Stop Big Telco’s Internet Ripoff!

June17

Here we go again.

Tiered pricing by “Big Telecom” was eliminated in 2000 as a result of customer pressure and FCC rulings for fair internet access.  It was confusing and still is.  You can’t tell how much you have used until you get your bill – then it can be a really ugly surprise – especially if you watch tv or movies or play online games.

Now Big Telco (Time Warner Cable, Comcast and AT&T)  are back at work coming up with ways to limit your access to the internet AND charge you EVEN MORE MONEY!

You must ACT NOW to stop this shameless profiteering by Time Warner Cable, AT&T and Comcast.

Click HERE to send a letter to your representative in support of the “Broadband Internet Fairness Act” introduced today by N.Y. Representative Eric Massa.

Can any of us really afford to pad their profit margins, especially right now? I think not!!

CLICK HERE – it will take you less than 3 minutes to fill out your name and address, send it, and then add 5 or more people you know to send it, too.

If we fail to act, they will win and we, again, will lose. ACT NOW!

The REAL faces of U.S. Health Insurance

June16

I am disgusted by the American Health Insurance “Industry”.  It’s an INDUSTRY, do NOT be fooled.

It’s big business to kill people, plain and simple.

This article on CNN’s website  reveals the dark side of paying your premiums and answering the questions as they are written – written to deceive you.

A class action lawsuit by people in this positon may be a David and Goliath story but it’s imperative that someone take it on.  The Insurance Companies are criminal in their behavior, and the comments  made by their representatives  today at a Hearing, were so disgusting they made me sick to my stomach.

According to their testimony, it’s okay to kill 1% of the policy holders, after all they ARE liars, and it saved them $300 Million dollars.  Excuse me, how much profit did they make last year?  Yeah, I am pretty sure it was in the BILLIONS.  Thus, $300 million would be a small fraction of that profit.

Shame on them!

It’s time for a revolution people!!!!

If you have a similar story, please post it here.  If you are uninsured, say so.  Let’s see what are numbers are and then we MUST start the revolution!   It’s time we take our health into our own hands!

Email…..survey says: we are all addicted!

June9

In the Tampa Bay area, where I live, 49%  of the respondents to a 2008 AOL email survey say they are addicted to their email.  When writing an email, 88% of them are careful of their spelling, which is good -  because 66% report they are ticked off by misspellings in email they receive.  However, 73% of them stated they forgive misspellings when the email comes from a mobile device – must be the tiny keyboard, not the sender!

It gets weirder here..

59% of us have checked our email from the bathroom!?!?

30% of us have checked our email while in church – what, are you expecting a text or email from God?

ahem….63% check our email while driving….PLEASE tell me you are at a RED/stop light!

The telltale sign of the times:  41% leave the mobile device/blackberry on the table next to their bed all night so they can hear the chime of an new incoming email.   You wonder why you drink so much coffee, or are so exhausted?  What are you waiting for, an email from Ed McMahon with your million dollar prize?!

People – UN-HOOK!  Seriously!  I remember — not so long ago,  when you left the house – the next time you would know who called, (yes, there were ONLY landlines not so long ago), was either: (a) when they called back; or (b) if you had one of those new-fangled answering machines!  Ahhhhhh those were the good ole days!

If you live outside Tampa Bay, and want to see how your area stacks up, look at the results here:  2008 AOL SURVEY ON EMAIL
