Take Action NOW – save the Public Option

October15

I just signed a petition asking Sen. Reid to include a strong public health insurance option in the Senate’s health care bill. Will you join me at the link below?

Insurance Industry Outed!

October13

This morning, John Roberts, the Anchor at CNN’s American Morning Program, interviewed one of my most favorite people in the world – Wendell Potter.  Why is Wendell one of my most favorite people?  He used to work inside the Insurance Industry and now he is quite the opponent – telling all their dirty tricks from outside.  I love the guy!  Having been in there too, I can tell you:  (a) he has a LOT of guts; (2) He IS telling the truth.

Wendell, your interview today just may have taken away some of that bad karma you stacked up when you were inside their dirty games!  Congrats!  You are my hero :-)

So, here is my favorite excerpt from Wendell’s Interview (click here to read the whole interview):

[YES I KNOW IT OVERLAPS MY LIST OF POSTS, BUT IT WAS THAT IMPORTANT!!]

Medical Care, only $15 a week. Same, or better, than you have now. Who wants some?

October8

Healthcare Survey:

If you could get a quality preventative health care plan for about $15 per week, would you sign up?

I would like to hear comments on this.  It WILL be done, with great doctors, and total privacy.

Please comment.  I have been hired to do the market research for this intiative.  If you are uninsured, you need to sign up!   There will be provisions for people who are impoverished.  After all, you REALLY need to stay healthy in that situation!

You are NOT alone.  Your information will remain confidential.  If enough people sign up, then we can prove there is a demand for this service and it will be launched.

The first locations will open where there is enough interest.  This is a U.S. non-profit initiative.

The website is lauching within 10 days.  I will report more about the launch as it gets closer.

Doctors don’t like insurance companies: noooo! really?

September24

So, I was reading ANOTHER health care article at CNN today.  You might ask me why I am so possessed with health insurance articles.  Simply put, the health care system is a SIMPLE two part system:  The Haves vs. The Have Nots.  Of course, the doctors are just a nuisance to big insurance companies who feel THEY are the final say in what care a patient should receive.  After all, what the heck do the doctors know about the buiness of medicine?

Medicine is BIG BUSINESS people!  Get with the program!  In order to make billions in profits, maybe a few people have to die.  The Insurance Companies cite that as a ‘reasonable cost of  doing business”.  Are you kidding!  What if it was YOUR kid or YOUR grandma!!

HEY!  Wake up!!!  You are worried about a govenment death panel?  Seriously, slap yourself awake to reality, you already have DEATH PANELS!   I would think the government might be a bit more lienient since they are not trying to make a dime off you!

Anyway, as I read this article about how doctors simply cannot do their job efficiently because the health insurance companies won’t pay them to do it efficiently, I came across this paragraph that I JUST HAD TO SHARE!

“”We have worked hard to establish a level of trust and respect with health care professionals,” said Wendy Morphew, a spokeswoman for Aetna Inc. “We have simplified business transactions with physicians, increased transparency of policies and processes, and worked with the medical community to encourage adherence to evidence-based guidelines in medicine.

Translation?  Here, let me help:

Doctors?  You can’t trust those guys as far as you could throw them,  We have had to set down hard and fast rules with them so we could “trust” that we could pay as little as possible to them for the maximum amount of work.  Now it’s so simple to pay them as little as possible, we can even write about it in manuals that are hundreds of pages long…not like they will have time to read them, but if they do, it’s that much less we have to pay them!  If they forget rule 1984358 and fail to adhere to it, we don’t pay!  If they want to treat a patient with a drug or procedure that is not in our book, we deny it as experimental!  That way we never have to worry about getting caught in a situation we can’t control!!

There ya go — if you needed to know what that double speak really meant, I have translated it for you!  Oh, and yes, the person’s name who spoke that utterly ridiculous gobble-de-gook was whited out to protect MY innocence!

Now, please, read what doctors think about private health care – and understand, while you are reading it, this is the cleaned up version of what they had to say!  The best part?  Obama’s long time doctor – who tells it like it is!!  Good man!

The article, justly titled, is “Do Insurers Meddle In Your Medical Care” on CNN Money, a part of their Special Report series on Fixing Healthcare.

Imagine if doctors were like lawyers and could just practice medicine!  What a wonderful world it would be!!!  Ohhhhh yeahhhhhh (thanks Louie for the soud byte!)
