This morning, John Roberts, the Anchor at CNN’s American Morning Program, interviewed one of my most favorite people in the world – Wendell Potter.  Why is Wendell one of my most favorite people?  He used to work inside the Insurance Industry and now he is quite the opponent – telling all their dirty tricks from outside.  I love the guy!  Having been in there too, I can tell you:  (a) he has a LOT of guts; (2) He IS telling the truth.

Wendell, your interview today just may have taken away some of that bad karma you stacked up when you were inside their dirty games!  Congrats!  You are my hero

Where were you that day?

Everyone I ever talk to knows EXACTLY where they were and what they were doing.

I was in Winter Park, FL.  I was a partner in a  High Tech R&D Company, having a total blast testing new Wi-Fi equipment that would be hitting the shelves for sale soon.  It was our job to make sure it worked and add a few features that would make it amazing.  Itturned out to be truly amazing, it was the start of Internet Marketing using Wi-Fi Networks!

We had sold our first contracted system to Marriott Hotel in Maitland and I was headed on my way to get the contract signed.  I was in the office early that morning putting the final touches on the paperwork when I heard a friend of ours in the next office scream and cry out.

We went running!  She couldn’t speak…just point to the TV on her wall…with tears in her eyes.  I looked up and could not believe my eyes.  They kept repeating it, but as many times as I saw it, I just couldn’t accept it was real.

Needless to say, Marriott cancelled that contract before I could get there. We left it installed anyway.  Ultimately they did purchase it a few years later, but that day will be forever burned in my soul.

We did what we could, we ran some promo commercials for a free concert to keep our name out there and we hoped that all the people in our area, ourselves included, could one day wake up without that terrible vision in their minds.  It’s been 8 years, times sure flies by fast.  The vision is still in my mind and the world just isn’t the same anymore.

I know Dr. LindaJoy Rose thanks to a women’s networking group where we are both members…she is one of those people you meet in life at just the right time.  You can stand there and talk to her and when you walk away you literally feel like you are glowing in love.  It’s pretty amazing.

I re-visited her site today for some inspiration – I was looking at her Fairy Line products for door prize bags for my networking meetings this month and considering sponsoring a few Fairy Parties for girls in my community whose parents may be on hard times.
